My third and final project from 10th grade art. This assignment was my favorite, despite being the most work-intensive and arguably the most depressing (you'd work forever on making your clay model perfectly shaped, only to have chunks of it fall off during the firing process).
The instructions were to pick a piece of surrealist art and make it into a teapot. My chosen art was the Twittering Machine, by Paul Klee ([link]). Yay, birdies!  My poor baby suffered a some major damage in the kiln (one of the toes broke off, as you can see), but it was hardly as bad as it could have been. xP You should have seen some of the other kids teapots. |
